Create a codex

A codex is a searchable library of documents inside a feature — files, PDFs, images, or text you add so Ronja can find the right passage by meaning. This guide creates one, fills it, and searches it.

  1. Open an exploration in the feature the codex belongs to, and pick Build on the start screen (see Standard, Deep analysis, and Build).
  2. Ask Ronja to create it — for example: “Create a codex for our signed customer contracts.” Approve the action when she asks.
  3. Find the new codex in the feature’s Codexes section and open it. An empty codex reads This codex is empty. Ask the agent to add documents to it.
  1. Give Ronja the material: upload files in the chat — PDFs, Word documents, slide decks, images, or plain text — and ask her to add them to the codex.
  2. Approve the change. Ronja reads each file, extracts its text (page by page for documents, and the picture itself for images), and indexes it.
  3. Watch the status. A document still being read shows an indexing marker, and the codex header shows an Indexing chip; once done the header shows Indexed and the document is searchable.

There are two ways to search:

  • Ask Ronja. In any exploration in the feature, ask a plain-language question — she searches the codex as part of answering and cites what she found.
  • Search the codex page directly. On the codex page, type into Search this codex by meaning… and click Search. Matching documents are listed best-match first; open one to read it.
  • To update a document, hand Ronja the new version and ask her to replace it — re-adding under the same name updates it in place. Ask her to remove anything out of date, or open a document on the codex page and click Remove document.
  • A codex can be moved to another feature with Move to feature, or deleted with Delete codex, from the codex page’s sidebar. Deleting is blocked while other resources depend on it — see Restore from trash for the 30-day recovery window.
